Tonight marks night one of the Great American Bash at NXT versus Fyter Fest at AEW. Both of these events are being billed as too big for one night!
On the USA Network NXT Presents the Great American Bash. This is an event which first started back in 1985 and has been collecting dust in the closet at WWE. The last time the Great American Bash name was used was in 2012. The matches scheduled for NXT tonight are:
- Mia Yim vs Candice LaRae vs Teagan Nox vs Dakota Kai in an elimination Match. The winner of the match will become the number 1 contender and Oney Lorcanearns a WWE NXT Women’s Championship Match
- Roderick Strong taking on his menacing nemesis Dexter Lumis in a Strap Match
- Oney Lorcan will take on Timothy Thatcher
- Robert Stone and Aliyah take on Rhea Ripley in a handicap match with the stipulation that if Robert Stone and Aliyah win, Stone gets Rhea Ripley as a client for the Stone Brand.
- The NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai will take on Sasha Banks in a non-title match
Over on TNT All Elite Wrestling is presenting night one of Fyter Fest. This is the second year we are getting this event from AEW. In 2019 the event was broadcast via the B/R Live streaming service for free but in 2020 we are getting it for the masses on TNT. The matches scheduled for tonight are:
- Private Party take on the Inner Circle team of Santana & Ortiz
- Jurassic Express members Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus take on MJF and Wardlow
- AEW Tag Team Champions Kenny Omega and Adam “Hangman” Page take on The Best Friends for the AEW World Tag Team Titles
- AEW Hikaru Shida takes on Penelope Ford for the AEW Women’s World Title
- AEW TNT Champion Cody takes on Jake Hager for the TNT Title
