Zombie is a well known Munsters fan and this seems like it could be a huge passion project for him.  Zombie has a 1998 single titles “Dragula” which shares its name with the drag racing car that belonged to Grandpa Munster in the series.  The website Bloody Disgusting has stated they have heard rumblings that this will be an original/exclusive for Peacock.  The sitcom ran for 2 seasons from 1964-1966 and follows a Transylvanian-American family  made up of Herman Munster (a Frankenstein monster type) played by the great Fred Gwynne, Lily Munster (a vampire) the wife of Herman played by Yvonne De Carlo, Grandpa (a vampire) played by Al Lewis, Eddie Munster (a werewolf) played by Butch Patrick and Marilyn Munster as Herman and Lily’s niece played by Beverley Owen and Pat Priest at different points in the run of the series.

The sitcom had a very fun and campy type vibe to it, so it will be interesting to see the direction that superfan Zombie takes with it.  He is notably known for horror films such as House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects and the 2007 remake of Halloween which seems to be split in the Halloween community between people loving it or hating it.  What are your thoughts on Rob Zombie directing The Munsters movie?  Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on our twitter account, we love to interact with our readers.  As always check out Culture Splat for all your favorite topics!
