WWE Night of Champions Predictions

In just a few hours, WWE will present live from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia their Night of Champions Pay-Per-View Premium Live Event.  The event will be able to be watched on Peacock in the US and WWE Network around the globe.  It kicks off at 12pm ET with the kickoff show and then the event will start from the Jeddah Super Dome at 1pm ET.  As of the writing of this, there are seven matches currently scheduled for the event.  Let take a look at them:

World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Final: Seth Rollins vs. AJ Styles

Let’s start with the big match everyone wants to see.  I am sticking with my pick all along from when the tournament started and going with Seth Rollins.  AJ and Seth have been great during the tournament and had some standout moments in matches.  I feel this will be a very physical and high spirited match with Seth pulling out the W.  He is too over right now not to give him the title.

Undisputed Tag Team Championship Match: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns & Solo Sikoa

My gut is telling that Owens and Zayn will retain.  There will be issues in the Bloodline and possibly the cracks getting bigger.  We could see Jimmy & Jey cost the Tribal Chief the titles or Solo decides to stick with his brothers.  The one thing I will say is if Roman takes the pin, it wont be a clean pin something will happen to get him down.

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar

Cody beat the Beast at Backlash in a very shocking way.  Now Cody has the “broken arm” thanks to Brock on Monday Night Raw.  I am going to say that Cody takes a loss here.  He plays the role of the gutsy guy coming out injured and takes a beating at the hands of Lesnar for a rubber match at SummerSlam or Money in the Bank once cody is “healed”.

Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus

In one of our three women’s matches in Saudi, we get the legendary Trish taking on “The Man”.  The outcome of this one really depends on how far down the road the WWE want to drag the story.  If this is moving forward to a Money in the Bank or SummerSlam then Trish will get a victory over Lynch.  If this is the swan song for the story and for Trish then Becky will get a decisive win over the legend.  My gut tells me this is getting dragged a wee bit longer so I am going Trish Stratus for the W.

Raw Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair vs. Asuka

I really want to say that Asuka would win here but that is not the case.  As cool as her character change has been, WWE is not ready to take away the push from Bianca Belair.  Asuka while vicious lately has not been booked well enough to be a threat to the title reign as of now.  Bianca will retain the title.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Natalya

We all know the winner of this one.  Natty at this point is not going to get another title run, she is a ringer you call in when you want to have a good match.  As Stone Cold would say a good hand.  Rhea is just getting started and Natty will be another notch on the Championship belt.  Rhea retains.

Intercontinental Championship: GUNTHER vs. Mustafa Ali

GUNTHER is really being billed as a big figure, I don’t see anyway that he loses to Mustafa Ali.  I think they will actually have a really good match, put on a great show for the crowd but like the Rhea and Natty match there is no way that Ali wins right?  My pick is GUNTHER retains and moves on to bigger fish.

So just to recap our winners picks are:

  • Seth Rollins
  • KO and Sami Zayn
  • Brock Lesnar
  • Trish Stratus
  • Bianca Belair
  • Rhea Ripley
  • GUNTHER
