8Bitdo Launches Cheaper Ultimate Controller

8Bitdo just launched preorders for two new versions of their Ultimate Controller.  The 8Bitdo Ultimate C comes in two colors and two options.  You can get it as a 2.5G wireless controller or as a wired variant.  The two color options are Lilac Purple or Field Green.

The new cheaper model will run your $29.99 for the wireless option and $19.99 for the wired option.  They are available now for pre-order on Amazon.  You can check them out here:

The wireless controller is compatible with Windows, Android, Steam Deck and the Raspberry Pi.  It includes a 2.4GHz USB dongle to connect to your system with.  This is being described by 8Bitdo as a “simplified” version of the super popular Ultimate series of controllers.  The simplifications are that it only has a cable for charging versus a dock and does not include the profile switch like its more expensive big brother as well as the extra back paddles.

It does support the same button layout, rumble support on Windows, a turbo button and analog triggers.  The requirements are Windows 10 or above, Android 9 and above, SteamOS Holo 3.4 and above.  8Bitdo is claiming that it can have 25 hours of playtime with a 2 hour charging time.  That seems pretty impressive.  The wired option has all of the same compatibility minus the wireless option.
