Atari partners with Plex to bring the popular streaming platform to the upcoming Atari VCS.
Today, Atari announced that they have a partnership with media streaming platform Plex. Plex will be available on the Atari VCS, the company’s new PC/Console hybrid gaming and entertainment system when the system launches in November of this year. Plex is the world’s most comprehensive streaming platform, it allows you to stream your own content to devices as well as access free live TV channels which Plex recently added as well as the movies you can stream for free on Plex from a ton of content providers.

According to the press release, Plex will come as a free app for the Atari VCS. You will need a Plex account to utilize the software. A basic account is free, you can get the Plex Pass which is $4.99 per month, $39.99 per year or $119.99 for a lifetime subscription. You can sign up for an account on Plex by visiting the Plex website.
The all-new Atari VCS home gaming and video computer system is a unique PC-based platform inspired by the classic Atari console and PC hardware. The system is launching in the fall of this year. It is available now for pre-order at Gamestop, Walmart and via Atari directly. The VCS 800 base system will retail for $299.99 while the “All-in” system bundles which includes the Classic Joystick and Modern Controller will retail for $399.99.
