Today Bungie, fresh off their finalizing the deal with Sony, has announced the date for the next Destiny 2 Showcase. This will be broadcast on their Twitch channel live on Tuesday August 23rd. The showcase is usually a pretty big event for the Destiny 2 game, as Bungie generally will show what players can expect in the future of Destiny 2.
The upcoming Destiny 2 Showcase does align with the start of Season 18, which the name has yet to be released to the community. Currently guardians are taking a break from the grind in Season 17, Season of the Haunted for the annual summer Solstice event. The current season began on May 24th and will run end on before reset on August 23rd.
The announcement did come with a teaser video from Bungie which is titled No Escape and is posted on the official Bungie Twitter account and is also embedded below for your ease of viewing. The video highlights key moments from the Light and Darkness saga.

The current expansion DLC guardians are working through is The Witch Queen. The next expansions coming are titled Lightfall and The Final Shape. Lightfall is expected to release in 2023 and The Final Shape is slated to arrive in 2024. The Final Shape is said to be the final DLC for the Light and Darkness Saga.
