Everything Announced At Sony PlayStation Showcase

Sony held their 2023 PlayStation Showcase today.  They showed off a lot of first party and some third party games.  Sony President and CEO Jim Ryan welcomed us and let us know we are in year three of PlayStation 5 and developers are just scratching the surface of what they are able to create.  Here is everything announced at the PlayStation showcase today.

Prior to Jim providing his message, we got Fairgame$ by Haven Studios.  It seems that it is an online competitive heist where you are rebelling against billionaires and the upper class.  Seemed like a pretty cool multiplayer online game.  No release date was mentioned for this game.

Helldivers II by Arrowhead Game Studios coming this year, this game came across like a spoof of Starship Troopers.  Everything about it felt spoofy.  It is a third person shooter releasing sometime in 2023.

EA Original/Ascendent Studios Immortals of Aveum.  This is a first person magic shooter where you have a wrist band/hand brace type thing that shoots at the enemies.  This is releasing July 20th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC.

505 Games and One More Level showcased Ghostrunner 2 and it will be coming sometime in 2023.  It showed off players riding a motorcycle at high speeds as well as hand to hand combat with a sword.

Phantom Blade 0 is coming to the PS5 and no word on a release date.  It is a hack and slash action RPG samurai game by S-Game.

Giant Squid Presents Sword of the Sea.  This one showed the main character surfing/skateboarding on a sword across desert and dolphins in the sky.

The Talos Principle 2 is a first-person puzzle game and will be arriving in 2023

Neva is a game from Nomada Studio and will be coming out in 2024

Cat Quest: Pirate of the Purribean coming in 2024.  This RPG has you playing as a cat in the Purribean that is swarming with Pi-rats.

Foamstars by Square Enix is like a Splatoon type game where you shoot foam at others.

The Plucky Squire is like a Mario Paper game mixed with old school zelda as you play through a story book.  This is coming in 2023

Teardown, coming in 2023 is like a mix of minecraft with explosives.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be coming to the PS5.  We had no actual gameplay, just a video trailer revealing Snake.  We are however getting Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 3 this fall on PS5.

Towers of Agashba is a game where you are rebuilding your civilization.  It is dropping is 2024.

Final Fantasy XVI is arriving on June 22nd

Alan Wake II is coming our way on October 17th of this year.  Alan Wake is trapped in a horror story, can we free him.

Assassins Creed Mirage is the latest in the Assassin Creed games and will be hitting October 12th.  Pre-orders are available now and it will also be on PS4.

Revenant Hill will be out for PS5 and PS4.  No release date was provided.

GranBlue Fantasy: Relink will be hitting PS5 and PS4 this winter

Street Fighter 6 by Capcom, we got a look at the new story mode.  This is release on June 2nd, so we are just over a week away from release.

Ultros will be available in 2024 for both PS5 and PS4.

Tower of Fantasy is an open world RPG coming to PlayStation this summer.

Capcom is back with Dragon’s Dogma II an action RPG game but no release date was provided.

It is time for Bungie to show off the new game they have been working on.  That game is Marathon, which was originally released on Mac in 1992.

We stay with Bungie and get over to Destiny 2.  In the trailer Ikora is talking to Cayde-6 with Nathan Fillion returning for the voice.

Concord is a PVP multiplayer first person shooter from Firewalk studios launching in 2024.

Finally we get to Spider-Man 2 and boy did we get quite a lot of it.  We got a cinematic showing off Kraven the Hunter and about 10 minutes of game play.  It is launching in fall 2023.

We also got some games for the PlayStation VR2

• Five Nights at Freddy’s Help Wanted 2 is coming late 2023
• Resident Evil 4 VR Mode is coming as free DLC to the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4
• Arizona Sunshine II is a zombie VR game coming Holiday 2023
• Crossfire Sierra Squad throws you into a shooting game as a paramilitary fireteam.  There is currently no release date for this.
• Synapse is coming in July of this year
• Beat Saber and Queen Music Pack is available now

Accessories

• Project Q – This is described by Jim Ryan as a dedicated device for streaming.  It has an 8 inch screen and all the DualSense controller buttons and features.  It will allow you play any game from your PS5 console using remote play over wifi.
• PlayStation Earbuds – they claim to provide lossless audio with low latency for outstanding sound quality while playing.

So that is everything that was announced during the PlayStation showcase today.  I must say, of everything shown I am interested in seeing more of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Alan Wake II, Marathon, Spider-Man 2 and Arizona Sunshine II and Crossfire: Sierra Squad have me intrigued with VR2.  A lot of the games did not appeal to me and the type of games that I play.  What did you think of everything announced at the PlayStation showcase?  Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on our Twitter account by clicking here.  As always stay tuned to Culture Splat for more content coming your way!
