Last month, Fortnite vaulted Trios which seemed like an odd move by Epic Games. There was no real explanation from Epic as to why Trios was vaulted which left fans baffled and forced to find more players to play squads or cut out a player and run duos. Well Epic has announced that Fortnite Trios has returned, however, there is a caveat.
It seems that maybe the backlash to Epic over cutting out the Trios mode has made them rethink this as it is once again available. The rub is that it is only available for non-ranked Battle Royale and Zero Build modes. Similarly to them removing the mode, there is no real explanation why the mode was suddenly brought back and why it is not available in ranked modes. Personally my group was running Squads without fill on so we would immediately start off with a disadvantage because we only have three players. Here is the Tweet by Epic out of the blue:

We checked out on the Fortnite site and there is nothing there either about the mode returning. It is very odd and quietly that Fortnite Trios is back, but this is good for us that run Trios! It is nice to see that maybe Epic is listening to the players who love the mode and brought it back for them. With the new season starting next week, it is nice to have this mode back.
