XBOX Games Showcase Event Set For July 23rd

Today Microsoft revealed the time for the Xbox Games Showcase in a tweet.  The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday July 23rd.  This event is scheduled to primarily showcase Xbox first party games.  We assume that the focus will be on the Xbox Series X as things for the system should begin ramping up for their holiday season 2020 launch.  Other than the date and time of the event, no further details have been revealed.

Following on the heels of a very well regarded display of game play from Sony, I would expect Microsoft to showcase actual game play and show off some killer first party games.  I am sure the crown jewel of the event will be the new Halo game Halo Infinite.  Some other games we may see is the much rumored Fable game and possibly a new Perfect Dark game.  There have been some activity on twitter with these two franchises in recent weeks so the likelihood is high that we see them.

The event is going to be broadcast on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter on Thursday July 23rd at 12pm Eastern, 9am Pacific.  This event is actually the day after Mixer, Microsoft’s failed streaming platform, fully goes dark.  The event will follow a Summer Gamefest pre-show hosted by Geoff Keighly which will air at 11am Eastern, 8am Pacific.

I for one am hopeful we get a release date and release price for the console(s).  I also feel Microsoft could pull an Apple one more thing and reveal the lower priced heavily rumored Xbox Series S towards the end of the event..

What are you hoping to see during the Xbox Games Showcase?  Let us know in the comments or on our twitter account!  We would love to hear from you.
