Fyre Festival 2 – Coming in 2024

Do you remember the Fyre Festival?  It was the literal depiction of a dumpster fire playing out for the world to see.  It was intended to be a luxury weekend music festival on a Caribbean island but it ended up being more Lord of the Flies which led to lawsuits, two documentary films and the notorious cheese sandwich.  Well, hold on to your seats because con-man and co-organizer of the failed Fyre Festival is back and has announced that Fyre Festival 2 is taking place.  Yes, you heard that right!!!

According to an article in Entertainment Weekly, McFarland has said that his time in prison, mainly solitary confinement gave him the time to write out a 50 page con scheme business plan to revive the Fyre Festival.  McFarland has also released an annoucement via YouTube.

In the video McFarland claims that the next iteration of his scam will take place in the Caribbean by the end of 2024 and that tickets are on sale now at the festival website.  So there are no “official” dates but the website says Friday December 6th, no acts announced and no location.  When looking at the website the first 100 tickets are sold out already.  Prices for the tickets range from $799 to $7,999.  The convicted con artist also states that he is partnering with the “best partners in the world who have allowed me to be me while executing Fyre’s vision to the highest level,” he continued that he spoke to people as far away as the Middle East and South America before deciding on the Caribbean once again.  He also mentions that leading up to the festival, they will be doing pop-ups and events around the world.

The original Fyre Festival was scheduled to take place on two weekends, the first weekend was April 28-30 2017 on the island of Great Exuma in the Bahamas.  Side note it is still baffling how Ja-Rule got away scott free in all of this.  The event which promised the lap of luxury ended up with FEMA tents and cheese sandwiches and led to McFarland going to prison for wire fraud for defrauding investors and ticket holders as well as a ticket vendor.  As this announcement has come out, let us not forget the debt that he still owes to those in the Bahamas and his attorney has address this last year saying McFarland is working on projects to allow him to generate the restitution for those affected.

If announcing Fyre Festival 2 was not bad enough and more than likely another scam, he has announced he is developing a Broadway musical based on the festival.
