John Laurinaitis Fired From WWE

News began tickling out today first from Mike Johnson at PWInsider and then confirmed by Fightful.com that John Laurinaitis has been fired by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).  This was the second go as the head of WWE’s Talent Relations department.  When the initial story broke of the hush money scandal involving Vince McMahon and him passing off women to Laurinaitis, he was placed on leave while the WWE Board investigated the allegations of misconduct.

News is now breaking that John Laurinaitis has been fired by the WWE.  Mike Johnson noted that he was told that the termination happened within the last week or so and it was being kept very quiet beyond a small group in the know.  Laurinaitis is the brother of the late great Road Warrior animal, and is married to the mother of the Bella Twins.

Laurinaitis got his start with the NWA wrestling as Johnny Ace in 1986 and was with the group/WCW through 1990, he also wrestled in All Japan Pro Wrestling through 2000.  He returned to WCW in 2000 and replaced Vince Russo as head booker until WCW was sold to WWE.  His first stint with WWE was from 2001-2012 where he had numerous roles and eventual became the Senior VP of Talent Relations.  In 2011, he became an on screen character who feuded with CM Punk.  After he concluded his on screen work, he was returned to working as a road agent backstage.  In 2021 he was brought back in as the Head of Talent Relations.  Triple H was named Executive VP of Talent Relations on July 22nd so it seemed this move was coming for a few weeks now.
