Michael Keaton Batman Once More

Michael Keaton will be Batman once again!  According to news coming out from the wrap, Warner Bros. is planning on having Keaton back as Batman in The Flash.  The movie will be based on the Flashpoint comic book story.  Keaton played Batman in the very popular 1989 movie Batman and returned for the 1992 sequel Batman Returns.  Talks are said to be in the early stages and nothing is guaranteed at this point.

Keaton has returned to the superhero genre with the movie Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) and as the Vulture in the MCU Spider-Man movies.  The news coming out is that Keaton will portray Bruce Wayne in the movie, the size of the role has not been disclosed as of yet.  The Flash will introduce the DCEU fans to the multiverse which could be used to pull all of the DC stories together and expand it to show multiple universes similar to what the CW TV shows did with Crisis on Infinite Earths.  This would allow several iterations of the same character to exist.  You could have Michael Keaton as an older batman and it would not impact the upcoming The Batman movie starring Robert Pattinson.  Who knows maybe we can get Batfleck back for a cameo!

The way this could play out also would allow for an entrance into a story similar to Batman Beyond in which Bruce Wayne mentors a young apprentice to take the mantle of Batman.  This is Great news for fans of the 89 and 92 Batman movies.  I personally think the original is still a great film and I just completed the 1989 LEGO Batmobile set.
