Microsoft Announces Game Pass Core

Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on closing the Activision/Blizzard deal and today they have announced a change is coming to the Game Pass Service.  Microsoft announced Xbox Game Pass Core which will be launching on September 14th.  Game Pass Core is replacing the Xbox Live Gold service and will give players access to a selection of over 25 games to play with friends along with exclusive deals.  The updated service will cost $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year.

Things to note, on September 14th if you are an Xbox Live Gold  member, Microsoft will automatically update you to a Game Pass Core member.  This will bring the immediate access to the new game library.  Member deals and discounts will also be part of the new Xbox Game Pass Core service.  Any Xbox One games that you previously redeemed through Games with Gold will remain accessible as long as you maintain your Game Pass Core or Ultimate status.  Any 360 titles redeemed, regardless of subscription status will remain in your games library.
