Sami Zayn Talks Phone Prank, Jackass and More

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn did an interview with the NY Post today on the road to Wrestlemania.  Zayn spoke with NY Post writer Joseph Staszewski and discussed his upcoming “anything goes match” with Jackass star Johnny Knoxville.

Sami Zayn was asked about the infamous prank by Johnny Knoxville with flying a banner with his phone number above Los Angeles.  Sami said it is not stuff that is normally done with building a wrestling rivalry.  Zayn did confirm that it was his real phone number and he would not have been able to predict the amount of calls and texts he would receive but did say it was in the hundred of thousands.  Sami also said “It’s still going on. These is never a moment where if I walk by my phone it’s not ringing or buzzing or there’s a call. Every second. It only started to slow down the last day or two. When I say slow down, it might be a minute or two between calls.”

One of the cool things about Sami said is that he actually answered some of the calls and in some instances it brightened that person’s day since they didnt expect him to be answering or for it to be a real number.  Zayn proceeded to say he was not a fan of Jackass growing up as he say it as a bunch of guys hurting themselves.

Sami Zayn also discussed his Sami for Syria program, which provides medical clinics for Syrian families displaced to get health care.  Sami said that the project is about five years old now and they have two mobile clinics that are in operation.  Every donation goes a long way.  He said no matter the amount you give, you can see where the money goes and how it is going a long way.  You can read the full article by clicking here.
