The Fast Saga Will Now End With A Trilogy – Vin Diesel

According to all news and reports heading into Fast X, this was supposed to be the beginning of the end of the Fast & Furious saga.  Fast X was announced as the first in a two-part finale for this series.  Don’t turn off you NOS tanks just yet and put away your favorite sleeveless shirt!  Vin Diesel, star and producer of the film all but confirmed that the series will now end with a trilogy and not with Fast Eleven.

While on the red carpet at the Fast X premiere in Rome, Vin Diesel dropped a bombshell on us.  Diesel said that the Fast & Furious saga may actually end with Fast 12 now.  According to Variety, Diesel basically turned the red carpet into a press conference.  “Going into making this movie, the studio asked if this could be a two-parter,” Diesel said. “And after the studio saw this one, they said, ‘Could you make “Fast X,” the finale, a trilogy?’”  “It’s three acts in any story,” added co-star Michelle Rodriguez.  When the red carpet host asked the duo if they were “confirming right now that we’re getting a third movie,” Diesel playfully cut the interview short and said, “You’re gonna get me in trouble here.”

Variety has said they reached out to Universal for a comment, but nothing other than Fast X and the untitled Fast 11 film have been confirmed.

Fast X stars Diesel as Dominic Toretto, Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pierce, Ludacris as Tej Parker, Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, John Cena as Jakob Toretto, Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw, Sung Kang as Han Lue, Helen Mirren as Queenie, Charlize Theron as Cipher and series newcomers Jason Momoa as Dante Reyes and Brie Larson as Tess.  Fast X opens in theaters on May 19th.
