The Horror Show at Extreme Rules – Preview

Our weekend full of wrestling fun continues tonight as the WWE presents The Horror Show at Extreme Rules.  Extreme Rules will be present on the WWE Network with matches from the performance center in Orlando as well as from a remote location for a swamp fight.  The kick off show starts at 6pm Eastern/3pm Pacific and the main card starts at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific.  The event will be the fourth WWE pay per view to take place with no audience due to the ongoing COVID pandemic.  Lets take a look at the matches for tonight, one thing to note for Extreme Rules it seems like 3 of the 7 matches have no stipulations.  Honestly at a PPV like this or a TLC pay per view event I feel that each match should have a stipulation which matches the PPV event.

Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship

I think that this will be one of the better matches of the night.  Bayley and Sasha are getting really good heel heat lately and I could possibly see a title change here.  This would lead to Sasha and Bayley fulfilling their prophecy of having all the gold!  There is always the other way with Sasha losing and finally challenging Bayley for her title…..

Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship

I think that this will be an interesting match and will be a good show for Nikki but I don’t see Bayley losing the title just yet!

Apollo Crews (c) vs. MVP for the WWE United States Championship

MVP has been great on the mic and since Lashley is not a talker, has been the best help he has had since returning to WWE.  I don’t think MVP wins here unless help is involved, but let’s be honest who wants that new belt anyway?  It looks like trash 🙂

Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins in and Eye for an Eye macth

I find this to be the stupidest stipulation I can think of.  I mean let’s be serious here, we all know that neither one of these guys is going to lose an eye in the match.  This match would be better suited being a cage match or something like that.  Not a stupid CGI thing that will mean nothing in the long run and WWE will eventually forget about it….  I am sure we will see something like Rey’s son turn on him or something but honestly I just find this match to be dumb.

The New Day (c) vs. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships

I am sure this will be a good match between these teams.  I think we could see a title change here.  I mean it’s a table match and Cesaro is strong enough to toss anyone through a table from anywhere in the ring!

Braun Strowman (c) vs. Bray Wyatt in a Wyatt Swamp Fight

We are getting another movie match here between Strowman and Wyatt.  It is not a championship match so I definitely see Bray winning.  I hope that this match is as well done as the Styles/Undertake match was.

Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler stipulation is TBD for the WWE Championship

Here is a match that is keeping us guessing.  No stipulation has been laid out as of yet.  What do you think it will be?  This match should be quick, I mean Dolph is good in the ring but you are looking at McIntyre who handled the beast twice this year (Royal Rumble and Mania) and as good as Dolph is in the ring, he is no Lesnar.
