Disneyland Reopening – Plan for 65th Anniversary

Yesterday Disney announced via the Disney Parks Blog that they are planning on Disneyland Reopening on July 17th.  The theme park closed due tot he coronavirus pandemic on March 14th of this year.

The park originally opened On July 17, 1955 and has been ever expanding since.  Currently there are Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney and three hotels.  Last year Disney opened Star Wars land to rave reviews from guests.  I can’t wait to get there and experience this first hand!  I am a big Disney person and introduced my wife to Disney for the first time in her life and she now loves it also!  The plan for the Disneyland Reopening is as follows: Downtown Disney will reopen first on July 9th, Disneyland Park and California Adventure will reopen on July 17th and Disney’s hotels will open on July 23rd.

What is really cool about the reopening is that it will occur on the 65th anniversary of the theme park!  Due to the still lingering coronavirus, social distancing will be enforced and guest capacity will definitely be limited!  According to their blog post, guests (including annual pass holders) will need a reservation in advance through a new reservation system for the parks.  Disney also notes that large gathering experiences such as parades and nighttime spectaculars (firework shows) will be returning at a later date.

This plan still needs to be approved by state and local governments for this to actually happen.  Disneyland has a huge following and it is an exciting time for those folks and give them something to plan for.  What are your thoughts on Disneyland Reopening?  Let us know below in the comments or hit us up on twitter.
