Homecoming and Venom Now Streaming on Disney+

Disney+ has been expanding lately and has added Spider-Man movies from Sony Pictures of late.  Well two more Spider-Verse films have joined the fold with Spider-Man: Homecoming and Venom now streaming over on Disney+.

In April, Disney+ added all three of the Tobey Maguire/Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies as well as the first Andrew Garfield The Amazing Spider-ManThe Amazing Spider-Man 2 is noticeably missing, for those that want to see Paul Giamatti in a mechanical Rhino suit.

Spider-Man: Homecoming brought arguably Marvels biggest super hero into the MCU for his own standalone movie (following his appearance in Captain America: Civil War).  In Homecoming, A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero.  Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May, under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark.  Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine, but when the Vulture emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

With Spider-Man: Homecoming being added to Disney+, we get to see where it fits into the overall MCU timeline.  On the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Timeline Order, Tom Holland’s first film falls in between Black Panther and Doctor Strange.

Alongside Homecoming is Venom being added.  This is a unique one as it is really outside of the MCU and kind of exists on its own.  I did enjoy the first movie much better than the second, however, the second did have the loose tie in to the MCU during the spell that Doctor Strange had cast.
