Hulk Hogan Biopic Gone From Netflix

For the last few years, there have been bits and pieces of news about a Chris Hemsworth led Hulk Hogan biopic getting made at Netflix.  The film was schedule to be directed by Todd Phillips and produced by Netflix on a script written by Scott Silver.  Today, an interview by Chris Van Vliet dropped where he brings up the topic to Hulk Hogan and the newlywed provided some details about the movie that Hulkamaniacs are waiting for.

Van Vliet began by saying every time he speaks with Hemsworth he asks about the Hulk Hogan movie and that he doesn’t know what is going on but he would love to still do it.  Hogan said that “business wise, Netflix kinda like missed the date as far as a business situation and so I had the choice at that time to switch gears.” Hogan continued “Scott Silver wrote the script, he wrote the Joker and a bunch of different movies and of course Todd Phillips has done the Joker, Wolf Of Wall Street and whatever all of the crazy stuff that he did.”  Sidenote, Todd Phillips was not involved in Wold of Wall Street.  “The script came back and it was amazing because my favorite movies are like Scarface, Godfather, True Romance.  It was there.  It was there.”  Hogan continues “But all of a sudden there was a business glitch and they tried to fix it a few days later, and I had already decided to move on.  My life rights and stuff are somewhere else now….. Hopefully Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth still want to play.”

Talking about Chris Hemsworth, Hogan stated the person he wants to play him has always been Hemsworth and that they share a birthday.  Speaking about Hemsworth, Hogan said “We talked once about the whole situation, he was all excited because he told me he had never played a real person before.  He said, ‘Oh my gosh, your life, it’s so interesting, this is so crazy.  This could be the biggest thing I’ve ever done.’  Scott Silver, the writer, he goes this is the most amazing script he’s ever written.  It’s powerful, it’s in a different place but there will be an opportunity for everybody to regroup.”
