There are certain matches in wrestling that people just want to see. Some have a short build and some have a very long build. Well put this one in the very long build category. CM Punk vs Kenta has been talked about for ages it seems. This one is titled the battle of the GTS or G2S depending on which wrestler you favor.
The “beef” between these two started when pretty much when CM Punk started using the G2S or Go 2 Sleep (as Kenta called it). When Punk took the move, he even kept the name the same just change from a 2 to a to. He even admitted to stealing the move outright and kept the name and an homage to Kenta. I will say, in the video even though he said he outright stole it, he did put Kenta over. This resurfaced a few days back and Kenta tweeted a reply:
I don’t really care who’s the original G2S. There is only one truth.

Even a few weeks ago when it was announced that CM Punk was going to be back in AEW, Kenta had a reply to AEW:

According to Fightful Select, AEW is working on Kenta working the Forbidden Door pay-per-view and a match against CM Punk has been discussed. There are ways to work this into the opening match for Punk the week before Forbidden Door. Kenta is a Bullet Club member and in his first match back with FTR, Punk is taking on Bullet Club Gold. Is it possible that Kenta shows up and attacks Punk during the match leading up to their Forbidden Door match? That would be a hell of an opening act for AEW Collision.
