Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 dubbed Fortnite WILDS is live. The center of the island collapsed and revealed a hidden jungle. Every season of Fortnite brings something new and unique to the game, from augments to new weapons or updates to existing weapons. We are going to break it all down for you here.
Map
First lets start out with the new map. This comes courtesy of the official Fortnite Game Twitter account.
Based on the image you can see where the collapse happened in the middle (Rumble Ruins). It also looks like there was a smaller collapse heading to the north (Creeky Compund) into the snowy region (Shady Stilts).
New Skins and how to get them
In the game, there are 8 new skins for the season in the Battle Pass. Here is how to obtain each of them:
Era is the first skin obtained via the Battle Pass. She is automatically added to players lockers once the Battle Pass for the season is purchased.
Trace is the second skin obtainable via the Battle Pass. Once you reach level eight and unlock all of the page rewards, he will drop for you.
Rian is the third skin unlock in Chapter 4 Season 3. Rian is unlocked once you reach level 20 and complete page four of the Battle Pass.
Relik is the fourth Battle Pass skin in Fortnite WILDS. Once you complete page 6 of the Battle Pass and reach level 32, he becomes available.
Mariposa is the fifth skin on the Battle Pass. Once you reach level 46 and complete page eight rewards, she is available for you.
Lorenzo is sixth on the Battle Pass and is obtained by reaching level 62 and completing page 10 of the Battle Pass.
The Autobot Leader Optimus Prime is the last skin on the Battle Pass. Once you reach level 100 and acquire all other Battle Pass rewards he becomes available.
The last skin is Purradise Meowscles. He becomes available in July as a bonus skin and more than likely will require you to complete quests to unlock him.
Augments
Augments were added to Fornite not that long ago, for Chapter 4 Season 3 WILDS there are a total of 20 augments for players. Here is the list of all 20 augments for the season, starting with the new ones first:
- Primal Companion – Gain thermal vision and regenerate health while riding animals
- Wildwasp Weaponry – Receive some Wildwasp Jars and gain an additional one with every elimination
- Sprint Lines – Gain a Slap effect upon using grind vines, grind rails, ziplines or ascenders
- Swift Shotgun Reload – Your shotguns reload faster
- Shell Slide – Gain shotgun shells while sliding
- Reckless Rifle Reload – Your assault rifles will reload significantly faster when the mag is empty
- Medium Ammo Acquired – Instantly gain medium ammo, then gain more when you open containers
- Traversal Warrior – You regenerate health and partial shields while on grind rails, grind vines, ziplines or ascenders
- Aquatic Warrior – Move faster and regenerate health and partial shield while swimming
- Light Fingers – Weapons using light ammo reload faster
- Bloodhound – Enemies hit by your marksman rifle shots are marked for a brief duration
- Steady Hands – Marksman Rifles have reduced recoil
- SMG Sign Off – The last three bullets of your SMG magazine will deal bonus damage
- Exotic Grab Bag – Receive a random heisted Exotic Weapon
- Soaring Sprints – Jump much higher and with lower gravity while sprinting
- Mythic Munition – Grants a Mythic Tactical Pistol
- Keymaster – Grants two keys for opening holo-chests
- Shotgun Striker – Shotguns give siphon on hits against players
- First Assault – The first bullet in the magazine of your assault rifle deals bonus damage
- Rarity Check – You gain siphon on eliminations with Common or Uncommon Weapons
Exotic and Mythic Weapons
Here is a list of the exotic and mythic weapons in Fortnite WILDS and where/how they can be obtained
- Chug Cannon (Exotic) – Can be obtained via Holo-chests
- Shadow Tracker (Exotic) – Can be obtain via Holo-chests and in Shady Stilts
- Heisted Breacher Shotgun (Exotic) – Can be obtained via Holo-chests
- Heisted Accelerant Shotgun (Exotic) – Can be obtained via Holo-chests
- Heisted Run n’ Gun SMG (Exotic) – Can be obtained via Holo-chests
- Enhanced Drum Shotgun (Mythic) – Obtained on loot island
- Flapjack Rifle (Mythic) – Obtained via vaults
- Highcard’s Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle (Mythic) – Obtained from the Highcard Boss
Other Weapons
There is a new Thermal DMR in the game this season, it offers the ability to toggle the thermal vision on and off to allow you to easily detect enemies. Be careful in your bush!!
The Flapjack Rifle is a new LMG with a drum magazine on top of it that spins. As mentioned above, there is a Mythic version of this weapon in the vaults
The Kinetic Boomerang is making its appearance in the game. The boomerang will hit enemies in its flight path and return path. You can recall the boomerang early and it will trigger a small explosion
The Cyberton Cannon shoots powerful, quick and explosive projectiles to take our your enemies
The Wildwasp Jar, holds a hostile species known as Wildwasps. They inhabit the jungle and lilke to swarm around certain plants. You can gather them in a jar to throw at your enemies.
Other Updates
You are able to ride the Raptors this season as shown in the cinematic reveal. If you find a Raptor egg, you can nurture it and when it hatches it will automatically be your Raptor. With the new jungle brings mud with it. You can slide in the mud for more speed than regular sliding and gain camouflage while doing it. Just like the grind rails in Mega City, grind vines are in the season allowing you to slide around on them in the jungle. You will be able to fight from the tree tops in the jungle. There are also new dangerous plants this season. You can shoot a Bomb Flower to create an explosion, a Stink Flower to unleash toxic gas or destroy a Slurp Plant for healing up. There is also a Hop Flower (no not for beer) that allows you to bounce around the jungle without taking fall damage.
The bounty boards have been updates as Job Boards in Fortnite WILDS, you will be given the choice of three jobs including a bounty to complete for gold bars.
