Seth Rollins Joins The MCU

On last nights Raw (May 15), Seth Rollins appeared in a pre-taped segment with Corey Graves.  With less than two weeks until Night of Champions, that felt a little odd.  But this morning we are seeing why Rollins was absent from Monday Night Raw.  Seth Rollins has joined the MCU and was filming Captain America: New World Order in Atlanta.  You can see Rollins below from some filming shots:

Seth Rollins joins a growing number of wrestlers to star in big time films such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, John Cena and fellow MCU standout Dave Bautista who has absolutely been killing it with his roles in everything from James Bond to playing Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy.  Gone are the days of Hulk Hogan in Three Ninjas.  Wrestlers are a growing faction in Hollywood.  Mercedes Varnado fka Sasha Banks has a role in the Star Wars universe as Koska Reeves in the Mandalorian TV series.

Captain America: New World Order (anyone else hearing new new new world order in their heads?) is slated for release in May 2024 and is the fourth Captain America movie.  This will be the first without Chris Evans holding the shield.  In this one we get Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson as the new Captain America.  As with all MCU films, not much is known about the story of the film.  In the film we will also get the return of Liv Tyler as Betty Ross and Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns.

What role do you think that Seth Rollins is playing in the MCU?  Do you think if the role is well received that he would start taking on more movie roles and slowly fading from the WWE universe?  Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on our Twitter account by clicking here.  As always stay tuned to Culture Splat for more content coming your way!
