CM Punk WWE Bound?

CM Punk definitely had an interesting run with AEW.  He came into the company with one of the worst kept secrets ever, had some injuries and some fights and Tony Khan announced that CM Punk was terminated on September 2nd.  Shortly after the announcement, the buzz about CM Punk and where he would go started to buzz around the wrestling news industry.  WWE would be the obvious destination if he really wanted to stick it to AEW.  More news is surfacing now that CM Punk could very well be WWE bound.

The wrestling worlds most hated “journalist” Dave Meltzer reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter the following:

Regarding C.M. Punk, there is obviously tons of talk regarding him returning. There have been rumors that it’s happening, but those in WWE have only said that no deal is completed and those close to Punk have told us that it is his intention to return and the two sides are in talks.

This little snippet should start getting the wrestling world really gearing up for the next CM Punk pipebomb.  With this information from Meltzer along with CM Punk saying on Cage Fury Fighting that he has about two months of free time definitely leads more to the arrival at Survivor Series in Chicago as we had previously speculated.  Meltzer also noted that Survivor Series in Chicago is a likely time and place for his return should a deal happen.

We all know that Punk did show up at WWE early this year to make amends and spoke to HHH and cleared the air with the Miz before word from Vince came down he had to go.  Just last week Shawn Michaels said he would love CM Punk back in WWE (NXT) and that he gets along with Phil.  While this seemed all but impossible not that long ago, it is the wrestling business and never say never…..

What do you think about the news from Meltzer that CM Punk and WWE are having contract discussions?  Are you looking forward to Punk getting back in the ring with WWE?  How hard do you think he goes in on AEW and Tony Khan?  Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on our Twitter account (X).  As always stay tuned to Culture Splat for more content coming your way!
