Jade Cargill lost her TBS championship and undefeated streak to Kris Zoolander Statlander back in May at the AEW Double or Nothing 2023 pay-per-view event. After that loss, Cargill was gone from AEW and TV for quite awhile. While she was away, there were rumors that she may not return to the promotion. Jade had a surprise return last week on Collision but now it seems that Jade Cargill is heading to WWE.
When she returned on Saturday night to Collision, it seemed that she was looking for revenge and her title. The rematch between the two competitors was booked, not for Grand Slam as some would hope for a high profile rematch, but for Rampage that will be airing tomorrow. Spoilers head The match was recorded this week already and Statlander retained the TBS title with a clean victory over Cargill with a tombstone piledriver. After the match Statlander and Cargill hugged.
The folks over at Fightful reported the following: “Jade Cargill is believed to be finishing up with AEW, sources within AEW and WWE both believe she’s headed to WWE.” Not that long ago, Cargill had an interview with Women’s Talk Wrestling where she said about AEW “There’s no other place I would want to be.”
If Jade Cargill jumps to WWE, she won’t be the first or last to do it from AEW. Bea Priestley went to WWE/NXT following her stint in AEW and is having success on the developmental brand, Mercedes Martinez was in WWE then went to AEW then back to WWE and now back in AEW/ROH. Brian Pillman Jr left AEW earlier this year and signed on with WWE leaving behind Griff Garrison and of course the big one is a founder of AEW in the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes who came back to WWE and is on a main event level and just everything is going right for him now.
